The University also participated in the building renewal in the Sixteenth Century, restructuring the area occupied by the Paduan School since 1493. Here the principal Paduan families once had their houses (Papafava, Capodivacca), which then became the seat of the inn at the sign of the Ox (Eo' -bue) from which the name of the building is derived.
In 1552 Andrea Moroni proceeded with the layout of the central building. around the court-yard a superimposed double loggia respectively Doric and Ionic. decorated with classical motifs portraying bucranium and leonine heads in the trabeations. Under the two orders of loggias and between the years from 1542 and 1688 the tradition of placing the coats of arms of graduate students of the University was established: a particularly rich and historically significant list of the history of the University.
